I had a problem with scouting in the demo, but in the full game, (both pre & post-patch), it's been excellent so far :thup:.
I just miss the date scouted button  .

I think a solution could be to go watch those games (as boring as it sounds) when it wouldn't conflict with your own team's matches, to follow vskalex - if you want to be that realistic. I am still of the opinion that few teams (and maybe even less with the semi-pro's and amateurs) can afford a scout.
However, the above option is a very tedious one, and given that this is a game, some middle ground compromise must be met. And this line must be drawn by each gamer.
Also, at the lowest leagues, a scouting report will be more along the lines of "yeah, he can kick the ball" or "no, he is not fast"; similar observations one would make when watching a match or even just the highlights.

Jim, you can sort the scout reports by how old they are. Maybe that is something they added in the beta patch, though.

When you're in the scout reports screen, looking at the players your scout has found, there's a column/category/whatever on the far right side that says "Days Old". On 07 it was just a date, but it's pretty much the same feature.

Thanks guys. I needed cheering up and that has worked a treat.
It must have been done in the patch because ur wasn't in the boxed game.
