Having not managed outside of Britain yet, I haven't had this decision to make.
But if/when I do get off this island, I'll have to consider it, as it would be realistic in a lot of countries to use it.
But, I'd still like to be able to turn it off, so I'm not disadvantaging (sp?) myself, which would be unrealistic, and just stubborn.
And we Scots can't be doing with stubborness. |

I doubt I would use it no matter where I manage. It makes things easier if you can get in stars from your parent club.

| Easier? - definitely. Unrealistic? - I wouldn't agree here. Wherever the laws of the game allow this, clubs do and will loan their players to feeder clubs. LLM is still an acronym for Lower League Management, not Lower League Masochism 8)?

To me, there are two questions -- and I haven't even really started playing 08 yet, so I don't know the answers:
Is it fair? Do all teams get roughly the same benefit, or am I using loaners who are clearly better than what the other clubs are getting?
Is it reasonable? Not the same thing as conforming to real life. If there are guys who should be Premiership squad players filling up the Conference, that's ridiculous and would ruin the game for me. But if it's just a matter of the FA inside the game having different rules than the FA outside the game, I don't really care. You could pretend that right after your save started, the FA changed the rule. Just as 87 transfers that didn't happen in real life went down.

To your first question - yeah, it's fair, actually from my limited experience in FM 2007 other LLM teams tend to get far better loanees than you.
As for the English situation - I am inclined to follow your solution, as indeed, there are so many other misrepresented rules in various leagues of FM 2007/2008 that this particular one makes no difference. Although I do see the point iajafer and company are making, and as I am waiting for the patch anyway, I still have some time to make up my mind.

I'm in Italy anyway. Managing in C2, parent club is in C1. Seems reasonable. I noticed another C2 team has two parents and one of them is Roma. I have a guy from a Serie A club on loan, but it's Genoa. I think this will be OK, on my terms. And I once replayed a game four times until I lost again because I lost the first time and failed to save. I take not cheating reasonably seriously.

There is a huge variety of what players come down. Some come from parents club in the Blue Square Premier, other come from the PL og Championship. to take on example. AFC Wimbledon have a player from Crystal Palace that is running rings around everybody in the league. 33 goals in 28 with av. rating far beyond anybody else.
If I got in a player of two this calibre I'd **** all over the league and get promoted. Which is why I don't do it. As I've written somewhere I haven't been handed any players from parents club, so I haven't had to ditch them in the reserves. But I don't loan players either, for the same reason. You can get in very good players on loan that is much better than the average BSS/N player. Perhaps not PL players, but certainly Chmampionship and Leage 1 backups. I don't have to tell you they are much better than anything I can get my hands on through the transfer market
Post this in GQ and they'll go WTF!?! |

| Any feeder/parent arrangement I've been in has strictly been one of the commercial thingamabobs.
Was hilarious when I was managing Kansas City in FM 07 and the board decided to link up with Man Yoo. Bringing SAF and Roonaldo to the summer heat and humidity of western Missouri every year. |
