2013 - Sao Luiz
Despite back to back relegations the offers were still coming in and I choose a side I’d encountered last season in the Third Division. They had no involvement in their State Championship so I had a few months of managing our reserve team’s fixtures to build up confidence in time for the Third Division. I couldn’t have been more wrong as we picked up 1 point from our opening 7 games. Second half of the season we picked things up but it was too late. A result went our way on the final day of the season but we threw away a 2-0 lead and my third relegation in a row was sealed. Maybe next year will be better?

Third Division - 8th (out of 8 teams) - Relegated
P:14 W:2 D:4 L:8 GS:25 GC:39 PTS:10

Transfers In: 12 (£170k spent)
Transfers out: 13 (£105k received)

If only tipping was allowed here I could pass on my wealth of knowledge so you could experience the delight of relegation(s)!

99.99% of llamas are already knowledgeable in the art of relegation.

Loving this thread. Every day, a new relegation! Quick question, did the Brazillan division 3 rules recently change? I tend to remember some kind of league setup, and then knockout rounds or something. Looks like less games the way it is now, which is a bit more appealing...

They did indeed from this season (or at least this when SI have encorporated it). I think it used to be 3 knock out rounds over two legs and then a final league of 4 teams to determine who would then get promoted.

It's more games now though (40 I think by my calculations) but it should be a bit easier since you can have the odd bad game and still stand a chance of progressing. Obviously in the knockout stages you can't really afford that.

This thread has encouraged me to load up Brazil when the computer arrives. I am really curious as to how the lower tiers work. It seems that one could get lost quite easily!

Good to hear To potentially add to the confusing factor so many of the teams have similiar names (I think there's at least 4 Juventus' for example) and the amount of players with the same names is incredible. I've lost count of the amount of the times I've seen an item in the news about a player and incorrectly thought it was about one of my own!

[b]2014 - Chapecoense{/B]
Despite my run of 3 relegations in a row clubs are still happy to offer me a job. I went for Chapecoense to continue my run of managing in the same Third Division Group. We were relegated after 8 games in the State Championship with one point to our name, typically we then won our next match. The Third Division we were awful, with only the opening two weeks spent out of the relegation places. In the end it came down to the final game of the season and we needed to beat the leaders and hope results went our way. An early goal for us and a long time later we had our win, our rivals could only draw and so we ended up surviving on the fact we’d won a game more. It was made all the more sweeter as the side I relegated had relegated me last season. Unfortunately it looks like I’m still going to be sacked but we’ll wait and see.

Santa Catarina State - 6th (out of 6 teams) - Relegated
P:10 W:1 D:2 L:7 GS:10 GC:24 PTS:5

Third Division - 6th (out of 8 teams)
P:14 W:3 D:5 L:6 GS:13 GC:22 PTS:14

Transfers In: 14 (£0 spent)
Transfers Out: 16 (£31k received)
