The influence on the nationality of the kids coming through the ranks because of a second nationality is rather annoying.
My mum and grandparents are from Belgium, and I consider it part of my ancestory so have put it as my second nationality (behind English).
Just into my third season and a quarter of my youth intake are from Belgium. Frustratingly unrealistic.
I understand the concept that if you (or your coaches) are from a nation you might have a better chance of kids through the academy being from that country - but because some of my family is from there it's affecting that big a percentage is just silly. Unless my gran has started taking up scouting the local leagues without me knowing.
Third season in and I'm tempted to start again without the second nationality selected.
I always have my second nationality as Spanish, since my girlfriend is from there and I spend quite a bit of time over there.
I have noticed Spanish players coming through my youth squad, but never as heavily as a quarter! In fact, coming to the end of my third season and I don't have any spanish youth players at all.
Might be worth checking with others, as it sounds like it could possibly be a bug. I'm not an authority on these matters though
I think you need to describe your current team and their youth setup.
I've only played teams without a youth academy so maybe that is a reason for it? Also the state of your youth setup could affect it the nationality of players as well as your teams reputation etc etc.
Of course the is pure speculation I could be barking up a completely different tree
I'm spanish, and in fm2007 I only had 2 players from spain in 17 years. Btw, the first had the same surname as I have, so I considered him my son XDDDD
I was playing for newport, a welsh team which plays in england bss
Seems to depend on the league your managing in, in poland i've had no canadians through in any season but my short stint in holland saw a pole and a canadian making an appearance. Most i've seen in one season was probably 3 or 4 in season in 07. It seems to be more strongly linked to the number of players of that nationality in your first team squad. Currently getting ukrainian youths in as I have 4 ukrainians in my first team.
