Trying not to sound "holier than thou" but I can't remember feeling temptation to stray away.
I tend to find that when you are getting pasted badly, simply finish said game, save and exit.
Go and do something else.
I guarantee that soon enough you will have that old feeling come back to you - 'Right, this time it will be different, I can't be as bad!'

With realistic loans I agree with Jimbokav1971 - many a time have my teams been pulled apart by a Championship striker.
However, I would not underestimate the player's will to play first team football. Quite a few real players in Leagues 1 and 2 have had short loan spells in non-league, particuarly at the beginning of their careers.

I've only managed to find 1 player to buy in my current first season game, and have dound it hard to get loan players in but i've now got 6 of the first 11 as loan players, and for me that is okay as that is what I would need to do in real life.

I have no money and no one wants to come to me so the only other thing i can do is get loans in (all of which are 18 or under mind you).

I'm going to have to do the same next season if i stay up and as i;ve said i dont see much wrong with it as needs must

I agree..managing cambridge united much earlier..i remember asking for a parent club and one of the clubs handed to me on a silver platter was W.Ham..I decided to carry on with the game to see what else they'd give me..and they loaned my four players who were way too good for the league. That game didn't last long I'm happy to say.

I think people need to use some good sense when accepting loan players. At the moment, its still a fair bit unrealistic, to see some really wonderful talent, pick up their bags and head to King's Lynn with a big smile on their faces. Methinks it's been mentioned before..i go for players already scouted.

I might be missing the point here but if your scouts find 4 or 5 players (carp or not) and you put loan-bids in for all of them, and they even accept, is this considered to be unrealistic, not LLaMa-esque or something just because in real life they would never come. To what extent is it possible to even know if something like this is not realistic?

I personally almost never loan in players but I would guess that if you follow the scouting-guidelines and so it shouldn't be deemed unrealistically or unreasonable, should it?

I would love to hear some more opinions on this.

IRL my beloved Billericay Town have loaned in all of about half dozen in the decade + I have been supporting

Of those players 1 came from Northampton (then in lg 2) who never went onto play a first XI fixture for them and now plays non league

A gk from Peterborough who had his trestionmal season with them this year having made nearly 400 appreances

Then a current championship and former premiership striker who was brought in on loan from Stevenage he was terrible when at the Ricay so made infact that on release from Stevenage he ended up at a Ryman 3 side from their he somehow got a transfer to Brentford and then onto Birmingham and Leicester

The rest were from Leyton Orient with them all going on to play for the o's first XI but now play non league

Personally I think the limits of reality are league one players provided they have no played more than half a dozen first team fixtures and are part of the reserve team squad as opposed to a member of the first team squad

This is possibly one of the factors inolved in the ludicrous numbers of high scoring games that are being experienced.
I pretty much agree, based on the experience of my save.

Not all players in the lower leagues are lent in, but quite many. There are close to 10 players with roughly 1 goal a game. And there are a LOT of high-scoring games. Sent in a save so hopefully SI are plucking away at it.

I know my choice to not loan in players is not totally realistic, but it's just easier than trying to draw a line somewhere. My scouts have discovered some really good youngsters from Premier League and Championship clubs. They are obviously not interested in transfer (not that I could afford them!), but I'm sure I could get some of them in on loan. If I did, I'd walk the league.

Naturally very annoying to see some of the lent in players set the league on fire and run rings around me, but it's the lesser evil.
