Don't get me wrong, I know where the header is, and more importantly, what is contained within it, but whilst perusing (sp?) through the forum it's inevitable that'll you'll find a post from a new player saying :
Quote:
having just bought fm2008 im looking for a challenge... blah blah blah
In most cases, the mods point people in the direction of the header, but it occured to me that some of the new folk (the guy quoted above joined Aug-07) may not know what or where the header is.
Now I know that in most cases, it isn't that much of a loss to the LLM community as at least 90% of the new people that wander in here aren't even remotely close to LLM, and have wandered in by mistake, but they should at least be given a chance. If threads are closed they can't even ask what or where the header is.
All I'm saying is maybe the mods should include this in their closing reply (something like 'hit the back button, and read the bold text at the top of the page... That's the header' to help them on their way).
I appologise if I'm dumbing things down too much, or overstepping the mark. I think this has been bought on by my little boy being 2 and asking 'Why' to EVERYTHING. It makes you see just how many things are and aren't straight forward.

Wht that should say is:
The mods often simply tell people to read the header.
I know you guys have to answer the same questions over and over again, but for each person that asks, it is (normaly) the first time they have done so.
The header is in bold print on top of the page. You must be pretty blind to miss it.
For me it's normal to read headers and rules before I ask a question. Doesn't seem to be normal tbh if you look at all the closed threads with stupid questions that are answered in the headers and the Rules/Guidelines thread.
If someone doesn't know what a header is and they miss that bold text at the top of the forum and can't figure it out, they probably won't be around this forum for long.
It's common sense and I won't be dumbing down my replies for them.
