In England, a club may (by regulations of the F.A.) not be a feeder club but has to be independent. Yes, there are some loose links between some clubs that work together a bit, but these links may not be formal.
Since LLM is about playing a game realistically, the guidelines is not to seek for opportunities to become a feeder club.
Of course, if the chairman agrees it, well, so be it. Use your own judgement.
I'm gonna be thick and ask, if it's illegal why did someone put it in the game ?
My judgement must be that as Oxford were already my feeder club at the start of the game, I shall keep using the talent they offer me to prevent relegation. If they ever **** off and leave me to rot, I wont try and replace them.
IIRC the feeder/parent option was introduced to help with sending players out on loan which proved quite difficult in older versions of the game.
Also these relationships are allowed by other national associations it's just that SI are either not willing or able to code in the specific rules into the game, personally I think it's a case playability over realism which is fair enough as we are in the minority.
I could have sworn I read in a post somewhere that they aren't "allowed" by the senior board of llamaness. Is there a thread about this somewhere, or can someone explain why ?
This is my first new CM game since CM01/02 so I'd not really had much experience with this, and I have been making great use of the players Oxford has loaned me in my first season at Stalybridge. Now I see that this is frowned upon ? Please elaborate oh filthy ones ?
It's in the game, RL teams have "links" with others...use other grounds as reserve stadia...loan players more regularly to one club than any other...play regular friendlies, etc...it's difficult to say DON'T.
The individual FAs forbid "formal" links with teams, all teams being independant, hence no "ManUre B" playing in League 1, the Scottish League frowning on links between "Senior" and "Junior" Clubs, to the extent of players having to re-register as either Senior or Junior...
...BUT it's in the game, how does one reinforce "it's not in the REAL game, though"?
If you get a bit up the ladder it could be quite useful, I assume, to loan out players so they get match experience. But as it's too easy to get good players either through being a feeder or though loans, I don't do that. It will have to be extreme circumstances before I loan anybody. That puts me at a disadvantage vis a vis other teams in the division who loan in players who my scout say would be good signing for League 1 clubs. Naturally they **** all over the rest of us. Have had some very strange results this year, largely due to teams loaning in stars (for this level). One guy has scored 33 goals in 17 games for example...
