Jon, Live for me is all about the people you play against - if you went on it for the first time and played against a bunch of plonkers then you would hate the whole experience but playing with/against decent peeps is pure gaming heaven.
Once you get to my age (32) the time you get to "play" games is more limited, so you need to make the most of it.
Feel free to add me to your Friends list (del 86) if you are looking for not just a good game, but some friendly banter.

Sorry for going off topic.
I'm sitting at work just know ( i know) talking to my pal who bought the 360 version (see post above) and he said the game is magic (we are currently still playing FM 05 on the pc hotseat game, although i have FM06 for the pc) and is loving the whole experience.

So well done SI, and fingers crossed our constructive criticism/viewpoints can help persuade you to change the Live game for FM 07

Well It is a bit of a funny old game. Anyway like I said in my original post I am part of a large group, age group between mid 20s up to 40. No braindead humourless people, and all British. If you have no joy finding decent regulars then you might want to take a look at our online team www.cunninstunts.com , we are involved in, Tiger 06, Graw, PGR3, BF2, Fight Night 3, Call of Duty 2
Forza (orig xbox - we were the top Brit team) and of course FM2006 - Hope you dont mind my little plug Sigames

Obviously like everything we do we'll be gathering feedback and trying to make improvements in any future versions that are released.
personally i love the way it works.

I hosted a tournament on the PC version last year with a few mates and although it was enjoyable it was a pain having to fit in schedules of when to play.

This way i can play in tournaments and leagues with random people and test myself properly against the best and not just my friends.

I see your point exactly, but I have been playing online games since 1999 and to be honest I dont have enough time to game with strangers and all the good friends i have developed over the years. Maybe Im an exception to the rule

Thats abit of a problem, i don't want to sound cocky but i don't want to make up this list of online friends. I just want to pick up my controller and play.

I have some people on my friends list but thats mainly through them needing me for their games, whether that be call of duty, top spin or Footy manager - if they need a player and i'm online i'll play.

Don't talk much through the comms neither but i don't think anyone minds too much.

I've just found a thing that worries me abit. I just lost 1-0 with Liverpool in the semi's online (my team was basically the usual liverpool players + Bojinov and Adu) and i had to play this guy who had every top player in the game - he said he was gutted because he couldn't get Gerrard.

I'm proud that i lost 1-0 to his team, i mean his team was basically...

Cech
Terry
Cannavaro
Ferdinand?
Ronaldinho
Lampard
Rooney
Pirlo
Shevcenko
Henry

subs:
messi, adriano, etc

i can't quite remember all the players but they were the best players around.

He claimed he'd played 4 seasons and won nothing but had the greatest team going. Spoiled the tournie for me as i never really stood a proper chance fom the start (even though Liverpool seem better this year round - cheers SI )

add another player to the starting line up lol think of who you'd have there and he was more than likely playing

Just been playing FM from midnight untill 3 30 in the morning . I love it, I like the new stats where you can see how many shots or passes a player has made in each game and in the season as a whole and how many have been on target and tackling etc.

The news is more detailed for example if a player signs for a club it will say where he was previously and how many games he played his old club etc.

I never really played the PC version so don't know if the PC version has all that. The game runs at a nice pace and and the players in the highlights are more clever ie trying t win throw ins and corner kicks off opponents.

I wish they filled the whole tv screen when 2d mode kicks in rather than having a big border of grass around the pitch and shame can't run more leagues but other than that I love it though when I do team talks no players say they agree with me being angry with them or thanking me for praising them.
I gave Garcia an injection to he could play in my next game, hope he is ok but Gerrard rejected the injection.

I noticed one bug in the game though which is Cisse scoring a hatrick against Newcastle and then in the news it said Cisse skillfull forward (as if) and if that wasn't bad enough it said he was a lethal finisher . i think I deserve more than 5 points for having a player scoring a hatrick especially as it was Cisse

That's definitely true, my apologises if I sounded a bit judgemental in my post, it wasn't intended. As I said, it was just going from my expereince on Live. I was very lucky to find a clan for PC games within 6 months of starting to play them, so I know the game depends on the people playing.

There are decent gamers out there on Live, in fact I'll set about organising a SI Games forums mini-play one afternoon soon.

While I understand the point Ter made, I disagree that it should be so complex.
The 360 is perfect for this, and all you need is a gamertag and you are away playing a network game.
Sessions could be organised the same way as they are now, via forums.
Hosts could queue online and offer games set to their specs IE Champs league only, etc.
I really dont see the problem here guys.
I know its not the same as having a quick deathmatch, but FM players hosting games will as a rule be committed to completeing a session.
And the negative feedback option on live lets you know if the player is reliable or not.
