I have enjoyed the FM and CM series for a long time but I want to know if the SI team will seriously allow the current AI to be in the next series of the game because IMO it is the most unrealistic FM/CM I have ever played. Will SI realise the super goalkeeper AI and fix it? Not to mention the many other stupid things which I have noticed so frequently e.g. oppostion scores equaliser immediately, world class strikers miss sitters, etc. Ihave been telling my friends for ages how good the FM series was but now that they have joined me in a multiplayer game of FM they feel that it is the most unrealistic manager game they have played. I wish SI could have just released FM05 or FM04 on the consoles because there was nothing wrong with the match engines in those games! The people who wont agree with what I have said here probably will have been playing a big teams so they frustration may be lower due to the higher quality of their team. I really do like the series so I just wanted to know if SI realise where I am coming from and hopefully review and tweak the AI of the next version. Sorry, rant over!
We're always looking to improve the game and match engine with each and every release. I would say however that most, if not all the things you've mentioned as gripes, do happen in football and to World Class teams and players.
I appreciate that you have replied to my post and I am happy that the team will be working hard on the engine. I understand that these things happen to world class teams but these things definately do not occur as frequently as they do in this game! I felt that the previous game engines were fine and there was really no requirement for change! Anyway once again i would like to say thanks for hearing what i had to say!
Could someone explain to me why I could dominate this game as chelsea yet I played as Portsmouth and spent £65m on quality players yet I cant win a game? Do not talk to me about morale as I have experienced these problems at the start of the season when morale was high!
I dont understand why this game does not allow me to play well even though I sign quality players! Please fix the match engine SI please! I hate it! Mt strikers miss an unrealistic amount of chances yet the opposition only need 1 chance to win the game and for the most part tha is what happens! Please fix this for FM07 on Xbox 360 and PC! Or bring out a patch for the PC version which rids the game of the most annoying and frustrating feature! Please do it for Gods sake! I would really love to enjoy this game but due to super goalkeeping I cannot! Thanks for hearing me out!
good players doesnt mean you win simple as, players count for about 25%, tactics 50%, and morale, team relationships the other 25%.. online play shows this a lot, many a time i've seen a custom team worth 1/2 billion get beat by a standard newcastle team.. and even seen the same team finish bottom in a 6 player league .. or maybe your players arent as good as you think, never played as portsmouth so dont know, certainly dont think the ai is impossible to beat, and dont think the gk's are anything special, play online doesnt take long to see a 8-10 goal thriller.. won 5-4 two matches in a row
kjk1ll3r: It's difficult to know why you're having problems because it's too generalised or vague a description. From what you've said all I can say is keep in mind it takes time for new players to settle into their new surroundings. The players will need to gel with the others and if you're signing lots of players in a short space of time, or regularly chopping and changing the team and tactics you may find this affects the team blend to some degree.
I have to agree with Neil Dejyothin and you have got to give it time, whenever I bring a lot of new players in you have to give it about 15 games in my experiences and they then start playing well.
I appreciate the responses but I know that I am not the first to complain of this super goalkeeping bug as I believe someone on these forums tried to create a tactic to counter it! I am seriously considering trading in my Xbox 360 version of this game as I have had to pay £50 for pure frustration. I wanted to know has there been reports of super goalkeepers on the PC version as I was considering buying that in the hope that there wouldn't be this problem or at least on the PC version there can be patches to erradicate these type of problems. Please trust me that I am not making this up and that I have tested many different teams and have experienced far too many matches that just didnt give a sense of justice or realism. Thanks!
