this may seem like a stupid question but have been wondering for a while, is Football Manager and Worldwide Soccer Manager the exact same game? want to buy fm 08 but if wsm is exactsame id rather just download it now and not have to wait for shipping. thanks for your help

ok but is the game missing anything or does it have like more of an emphasis on mls or something? and also does the fm patches work for it aswell, or do i have to get wsm ones?

It's the same game. The only difference I know of is in the preferences it defaults to American English, dollars, yards, head coach, field, etc. All of these can be changed to UK English, pounds, manager, pitch, etc if it is what you prefer (and what I do). Also if you have the game suggest leagues for you to run it will suggest MLS, Mexico, as leagues to run. I'm American but prefer to play in Europe and so set up my own football world ignoring what wwsm suggests.

You have to use the wwsm patch which this year was released at the same time as the FM one.

You can't use a lot of third party stuff such as MiniSE and FMM, if I'm not wrong.

And I think they do a ip check.

Third party graphics like facepacks, logos & badges, and backgrounds work just fine with WSM, but as passer-by said, not third-party editors or scouting programs will work. MiniSE, Genie Scout, and FMM are off the table for WSM owners. And some chairmen don't have to be dumb to refuse that deal.
