My players seem to get more upset when I praise another manager than when I praise another player! You would think they would be more concerned about losing their spot in the team. Managers praise other managers all the time IRL. I even praised one of my club's favored personnel and they still were bothered!

this same goes to whenever i praise my players for their good perfomance. They tend to get upset!

I am baffled as well with this. I praise my players all the time and they are happy. I praise a manager my whole team thinks there is something wrong with making friends.

Don't ask SI to fix this because they won't

Every time i praise my players after a great win they never seem to be listening.
Is there something im doing wrong?

I agree a player is playing well 8-9 each game you praise him and he thinks your an idiot or hes playing bad you tell him to buck up his ideas and he holds a grudge against you till he refuses to sign a contract and praise another manager more than once and you have a full blown mutiny.

Praising players = makes them complacent.

Which is reflected by lowered Morale.

Doesn't make sense to me either.

Keep in mind that praising other managers will allow you to develop better relationships with them, which makes it easier to buy their players. So, in an indirect way, it might make sense for your players to be upset when you praise other managers, because they could fear that this will help future transfers and threaten their positions.

I had Roy Keane praising me and saying he thought we could be friends.
Well im hardly going to upset him am i so i praised him too and got slaughtered by the players.
And when i abuse Wenger they slaughter me too.
Im the Spurs manager it has to be done

The reaction has to do with players character as well. Players that are "professional" tend to get upset by praising other managers or when you make bad comments on other managers.
[Basically, I can't say anything or he'll get upset]
I hope there's another way to make friends with other managers. I also find it funny that those you become friends with tend to lose their jobs sooner than enemies.

Praised Michael Laudrup while I was Real Madrid, and the players got whiny. After a while I did it again. They got whiny again. So I fined them all!
