Hey,

I'm trying to sign Henri Saivet from Bordeaux and I have my bid accepted and it comes to the contract offer screen when Saivet states he wants £210 a week as a decent young player so I match his request and a day or 2 later he comes back saying he he's committed his future to Bordeaux by signing a new contract.

This must have happened about 10/20 times now. When I declare my interest he says he's flattered and would seriously consider a move to Liverpool if the opportunity came along and no matter what I offer him he signs a new contract with Bordeaux.

He's on £60 a week for them, I even went up to £20K a week and still no go.

He must have sign a serious amount of new contracts by now.

Anyone ever seen this or know how I can sign him?

He's a hot prospect at Bordeaux, and ultimately won't want to sign as a decent young player.

He probably did seriously consider it, and then his loyalty kept him at his home club.

Lol, it's not a crime that he doesn't want to sign for you. Maybe you should just accept it and move on?

I've tried all different squad status for him, including first team player and still no go.

I know but he's said when I declare my interest that he was flattered by the interest and would seriously consider the move if he was offered it.

If he's under 17, he has proaly already signed a pre-contract, and that can't be usurped. You'll have to wait until his 17th birthday and try again.

You should offer him much more than he requests, it always works.

Oh well, I've never failed using that "tactic", guess I don't come across many pre-contraced players.

He is already 17 and he requested about £250 a week. I offered him £20K and he still signs a new contract with his club.

This is a problem i noticed ever since FM 07. A decent young player which u are interested in signing. Requested a small salary from you, offered him that and he still sign for his club.

Then i thought i would change his squad status to key player and offer him lots of wage as an experiment, sometimes they would sign for the team but most of the time still sign a new contract with the small team despite been offered very little money. Now that is unrealistic.
