True, but even so he still might turn down more money, etc, because he is still only 17 and wants to stay where he is comfortable, even if the money you offer is ten times what he earns currently. He has 15 years to make his pile, after all.

Henri Saivet was my first signing at Juve at 16 y/o, and he doesn't have a pre contract with bordeux. if he did, he would not have the option to sign him in his profile. i signed him on a youth contract and then a professional contract once he turned 17. technically, liverpool are a bigger club than juve first season, so the OPs problem is a little strange.

maybe it's different for other managers in these forums.

It has already been answered, in that case: he just doesn't fancy it for some reason. Waving the wad might tempt some players, but others will reject it. That's life.

As far as I'm aware (different employment laws and all that), you need to be 18 to sign a professional contract in France. Not 17.

Thats fair enough but why continously sign a new contract with his club? He has signed about 10 in the last year.

If he said that he didn't want to move abroad etc.. then fair enough.

I signed him in my last game when he was 16 so he should be available to sign.

Yes, probably before he signed a pre-contract agreement. You are free to sign players who don't already have a pre-contract agreement, but you CAN'T sign players with pre-contract agreements in place, and in France at least, they can't sign professional contracts till they're 18.

So to sum up, either get them before they sign a pre-contract or you'll need to wait till they've signed their first professional deal.
