I was thinking about the turmoil of the last months and was trying to find a solution. From discussions that involved many users and manufacturer's representatives it became clear that in matches between AI teams the shots, shots on target and goals were at levels similar to real football. On the other hand, human tactics produce double the shots. Thankfully, humans do not score many goals because the opponent goalkeeper becomes Hulk and the user's strikers become girls. For all of us who watch the games the situation is unbearable. What we are experiencing is players aiming the keeper, trying to kill him with a football. I've seen up to four conscutive shots by the same player on the goalkeeper; I thought it was a game of ping pong.
My idea was to start a new game and select tactics only from the list of standard ones. I got Algeciras in a very low Spanish league. My target is to avoid relegation. I usually play 4-4-2 or 4-4-2 diamond, straight from the tactics list. I don't change a single thing. Guess what. The games are great to watch! The number of shots and shots on target is reasonable, my chances are reasonable, I score a reasonable amount of those chances etc. By employing tactics that AI employed during the SI experiments I managed to watch games of footballs that are closer to reality.
So, if you are a football fan who would like to watch a proper game this is what you can do.
I understand that one big aspect of the game is altering tactics but it usually leads to a game of tennis between your strikers and the keeper. These games are a torture to watch.
Just to get this straight, I am not interested in winning many games and so on. I just want to watch a football match that resembles to a football match.
