this has happened in my milan and now barca game, at the start of the season i sign a coach which gives me 7 star set piece (arguably the hardest to get as it requires the most pre-reqs), however near the end of the same season, he is only 6 stars for set pieces.
why is that? hes only training in set pieces and nothing else.
what annoys me is that i usually try and lock these guys into long contracts (given how hard they are to find in the first place) but their stats drop for some reason!!
Stats do move up and down a bit, especially if the coach is young (<50). Coaches also have CA and PA, so it's not a surprise. If you stick with him for another year, it's likely that those will bounce back.
Good chaches are hard to find at the beginning of the game but once your scout knowledge is good and stars start to shine, you'll find plenty of good coaches in the 3rd season and after.
