I've often had "played six seasons under..." when they've played two, but Valdivia apparently has played for 9 seasons for me, between 2007 when he joined and Jan 09 when he left.

Has anyone ever had one of these messages be remotely close to reality?

And is it just me who's sick and tired of getting comments about every tiny player who's ever spent a day at my club, returning?

Yes, they do get annoying, especially when they are players you had on trial and didn't actually make an appearance for you.

I'm afraid to say it's another example of SI introducing an excellent new feature, but then not following it through to completion and leaving it a little "half-baked".

I don't know whether to congratulate them for introducing the idea, or chastise them for not doing it well enough.

Maybe a little of each.

I'm now in 2013 and as I go through lower league players faster than I can cope with, I'm getting the message almost every other game. I agree with Jimbokav, it's a good feature, but it gets tiring when you get far into a game.

Only every other game? Lucky lucky man. By 2017 every team I play has an ex Spurs guy in it.

You wouldn't think it would be beyond SI to make the simple YearEnd-YearJoin = YearsSpent calculation would you. Sigh.
