Ok i did do a search and i got a few ideas but most of them were for previous versions of the game and i want your veiws for 08.

Now its not a rant or anything, but i have all of a suddne started losing games...

Im in my second season with aberdeen football club, first season wasnt great but not bad i finished 5th, nothing exciting. I started my second season with a new tactic and a new look at things, all was going fantastic.

I had played 18 won 15 drew 2 and lost 1, which was angainst rangers, i managed to beat celtic at one point aswell, then i came up against celtic for the second time, i got beat. Which was all fair.

I have now gone 7 straight league defeats. At first i thought it was a bad month but it has become more serious than that, my team are generally playing pap now...

I would just like some hints and tips that might help me sort things out, not necesseraly about my tactics but in the game as a whole, ANYHTING i might be able to do to turn this around.

i know you said not neccessaraly about your tactics but other than bringing in new blood the only way is to try maybe a more defensive style of play.

If you have comments to make about tactics then by all means please share them but i didnt want to ask purely on tactics or else i would have tried the tactics forum.

I had a very similar problem with the mighty reds myself. About halfway through season 2 (end November to January time) i hit such a bad run of form, i thought i was for the sack. I brought in a couple of players in the January window (try Man U/Chelsea/Liverpool etc loans if the budget's tight), and never looked back - finishing second at the end of the season.

I think your team's confidence is shot to pieces (you'll maybe have seen yourself IRL this season that they're not the strongest of mental sorts), and bringing in fresh blood seems to reinvigorate them. That's definitely what has always worked when i start experiencing a slump. Tactical changes just haven't done it for me, but a new player or two hits the spot every time...

its not about a specific tactic, but you have to change formations/tactics simply because the AI teams have sussed you. this happens to me in most of my gamesaves.

just like in real life, when teams play the same formation, same players, same style every week, eventually teams will get used to it and make special preparations for key players etc.

new players will obviously have an impact as the opposition can't predict how they play for your club if they haven't yet.

It's all about confidence. It's happened to me enough times to know this. Was well on my way to the Championship title last season with Leeds until I had a couple of injuries, few bad results then I lost my rag and bollocked them. If it wasn't for our magnificent start, we'd have probably been relegated.

Unfortunately, you have to get them happy again. Which means praising some shocking performances on a team scale and individual players for just-above-average performances (in game only). Helps to say nothing sometimes too. If I lose by anything more than 2 goals, I wont speak to them.

Maybe swap your captain, or if he's got better than "poor" for morale, ask him to conduct a meeting with players. This actually worked wonders once for me. Got us a win and I could praise them all again and get us all happy again.

Oh and tip; NEVER talk to the media. About anything. Ever.

Please note that I am one of the least tactically adventurous people on here as well. I play 4-4-2 at all times, make an AMC run forward and a DMC run back and that's all I change. I do ok. Nothing spectacular but for a "LLM", I seem to do ok.

So don't worry too much about tactics. It's better to do little than too much, in my opinion.

It's good to lose some games. Only healthy ... Everything in moderation's the best bet, a bit of losing never hurt anyone!

I'm going to guess that confidence has been shot to pieces over the seven games. If this is the case, then the best thing to do will be to play a defensive, counter attacking style in order to try and grind out a result. Even if you only get a draw, it could still give your team a vital boost in morale which could help get you out of the slump.

And like others have said, getting some better quality players in on loan could also help see your fortunes improve.
