Im very comfortable making photoshop brushes but have a problem when I want to share them. I've looked in brushes folder under presets and never see the brushes I've created there? Should I be using some other method?

The best way to share brushes is with the preset manager; edit/ preset manager.
Of course you can put a Photoshop brush file (.abr) in the preset/brushes folder, but that doesn't mean that the brushes autmatically appear in Photoshop, you still need to load the set first with either the preset manager or the brush preset picker window (see attachment)
