8))Hi everybody!
I am new here and I start with problem.HELP

After installing and running it few times photoshop wont run.
I searched another forums for the answer and I couldn't solve my problem.
It runs reading fonts other thinks and when comes to tool preferences it stops.
Anybody can help?

You could try resetting your preferences at boot by holding (I believe) ctrl+alt+shift while the app boots.

Other than that you should probably contact Adobe's tech support since this is kind of an Adobe tech support issue. Have you had this problem with other apps (adobe or otherwise)?

OS, hardware, etc.?

I tried resetting prefs and shift + combination.No help.
Still wont open.Yes I forgot to mention that is problem with cs2 9.0 version.
I had version 7 before and it worked perfect.No such problems with another apps.
I remember that I had same problem with Illustrator cs some months ago so I had to use the older one too.I think it was version 10.
Generally is problem with cs versions.

how much ram do you have ? when's the last time you defragmented ? have you made any significant changes to your machine ? I'd start by checking out your software environment. Once that's in order, then start asking questions.
Also, ( you may not want to hear this ) Re-formatting once a year can do wonders for your machine. I,ve had one PC since 2001 that I re-format every six months. This old girl has a whopping 512 megs and in loaded with the OEM version of XP Home. ( it's my internet and software test machine ). It runs CS2 and CS3 like a breeze, as well as my G5 and other PC which has 4 gigs of ram and an AMD duo core. This little jewel has never been turned off except for a few short periods of time, for cleaning and maintenance. Take care of 'em and they'll take care of you.

I have 512mb of ram and it's fresh installation of windows xp with sp2 after formating a drive.
Now after installing few needed programs I want to install PS too.
So it work for once or twice and now I can't run it.

So you see the flash screen, you see the text "tool preferences" inside it and then it just sits there?

Again, it just sits there? When it hangs, what is the exact message of the part Photoshop is processing? This is very important if you want to find a solution by using search engines or by searching Google groups.
Personally I think it's related to your video card and/or driver.

You must have done something after you started Photoshop successfully, things normally don't go wrong by themselves (there are exceptions).

Exactly the same problem or kinda? Again, this makes me doubt the video card/driver. Mind you, with video cards it is possible to have erratic behavior, like working 4 times in a row and then failing halfway and then working again the next day. That?s one of the reasons why Microsoft simplified the driver model in Vista to avoid these kinds of problems as much as possible.

If it's possible try an updated driver or test with a different card that you borrow, doesn't have to be a fancy one. Problem solving is all about elimination.
Start with the basics, the foundation, which is the hardware, test it, make sure it works, check the OS, test it, check logs, make sure it works and continue your way up. If you start a random guessing game you risk working on a problem for days if not weeks.
