This summer, Rafa will be trying to use his money carefully but splash out on big world class summer signings with the backing of new owners, George Gillette and Tom Hicks. But will they have a strong enough team to challenge the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea in the prem next season?
What they really need is a classy winger and an authoritative, goalscoring striker. I think that David Villa would be an exceptional buy looking at the talent that he shows, week in, week out in La Liga. Him and Crouchy or Kuyt up front would be a lethal partnership matching the quality of Drogba and Shevchenko for Chelsea and Rooney and Saha for Man Utd.
A good winger that suits Liverpool's style is Daniel Alves who is amazing when you watch him bombing up the wing, taking on full backs, and defending like a warrior. He has terrorized Spain's top teams with his skills. Another talented winger that Liverpool would like to have is David Bentley. He is slightly under rated but he has proven in the Prem, UEFA cup and international level that he can pull all of his tricks out of the bag. Arsenal should never have sold him.
But what do you think? Can Liverpool battle it out with Chelsea and Man Utd next season with a fresh talented squad to challenge them for the prem title. And if so what should they do and who should they sign to make this capable?
