Statue effect from a photo of a face... does anyone here think they can do it? I am posting an image, it is an original ancient bust/statue.

Hi fotobill, I really appreciate the tut you pointed me to, and I gave it a go, but it didn't come out quite right. His result is not that good actually .. the shirt and his moustache are not "statued". I don't want to appear ungrateful, but it's close but no cigar lol.

I have actually spent the last 5 years, on and off, up and down the web visiting Photoshop forums and asking experts to try this effect , and no one has come close (yet). The result needs to be really good, and I mean good not a second rate effort, and I am even willing to pay someone who can turn a photograph of myself into a convincing ancient Roman (or whatever) statue/bust. Although I am quite proficient in PS myself I am willing to hire someone to do this.

Who's up to the task? \:/

Thanks sPECtre. This is looking very promising [righton]. I will try these and come back. If any one sees any more, you can't have too much help with the statue effect, it's got to be one of the trickiest effects to nail in Photoshop .. or we'd surely be seeing people immortalising themselves on their sites lol

There is a book called "How to cheat in Photoshop" by Steve Caplin.
He makes a very good white marble (no vains).
Take a look at it at a bookstore its only a two page tutorial.

Hi Lasa, and thanks! Yes I had been told about Steve Caplin's attempt and I have my local library getting the book for me. I'm a bit busy with work at the mo but will return soon with my attempts.
