But being the masochist I am, how about if I post a tutorial a la the "Inside 7" book here, once a month, in Acrobat format, with resource files, and then we discuss everyone's work?
Would be *fab*!!!

Default I want to print quality pictures!

Hello DV8!

Andito na me. Hmmmm okay. So what is the difference between using Photoshop and Paintshop Pro? How about Corel? My problem is that I want to be able to print quality pictures but it just came out not as great as I see it on my monitor? What could be the problem?

I have the latest printer in Epson. My digicam is adjusted to resolution of 2400 (whatever that is [confused] but it's the highest). And I use the program Printshop.

Is there something that I am missing out? HELP!

Hi doll_75. I'll have to get my thoughts and system in place so I can answer your question.

For the meantime, post your question in the OTHER INTEREST thread so others can helpout as well. Your question falls into this category. I'll answer it there.

Doll_75,

I don't use Paintshop Pro. I wouldn't know how to compare that with Photoshop. But Photoshop is the leading standard application for image manipulation and graphic rendering. Used by professional designers, there are myriads of controls unique to the program and web tools for optimizing and previewing images as well as GIF animation by ImageReady, a sister program included in the package.

Currently at version 7, PS is a bitmap oriented program. This means images are generated by pixels thus the image shapes are anti-alaised (softened around the edges). It is unlike Corel, which is a vector application. In simple terms, this means you can create an object and resize it any size you like yet no visual content is lost but lines or edges are jagged. Not like a bitmap, when resized, loses pixel data. Take note - these are not disadvantages to the programs.

I use both PS and Corel in tandem. I find it easier and more accurate to create shapes in Corel (considering I've used it since v1 and PS wasn't out yet). I import and manipulate them further in PS. I sometimes use Corel entirely ( [shhh], the guys here may not like it [bustagut] ). But that depends on the job at hand.

But when it comes to image manipulations; texture mapping; rich finite or complex color fills; a more realistic looking image or creation - Photoshop is the piece de resistance.
