The book is out now! I just put it on my wish list at Barnes & Noble. I'm waiting on my shipment of PS 7.

Default Five Stars on amazon.com

I've been writing books on Photoshop since 1994 and version 2.5, and many of you already know me, but, hey, it's the Holidays, I've got a book out on version 7, and Stu told me it was okay to shill it on this thread !

So far, we've got fourteen reviews and five stars on amazon.com for the book, a personal first, so my wife (and co-author) and I feel it's definitely worth your while to check this title out.

"Inside Adobe Photoshop 7" is both an expansion and departure from my previous books. It was impossible to write the whole thing by myself, so I asked some industry leaders and friends to help me out. We also structured the book to work on a "hub system". The "core" is a reference section (new to our book) and it expands into select fields such as "Photoshop for the Photographer", "Photoshop for the Web designer", and it's pretty darned comprehensive (it ought to be at over 1,000 pages!).

Here's a link for buying it:
http://www.TheBoutons.com

If you pick it up over the typically slow Holidays (okay, I'm really shilling here), I think you'll have as much fun reading it as we did writing it.

Marry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to one and All,
Gare

Default Mark-How's about my own area? :)

I'm only just discovering Mark's invaluable site here. I had some personal problems right after doing the 7 book, and I'm attempting to moderate the 3D forum AND have a life and look for work (authors are out of work, more or less, between books...at least I am!).

But being the masochist I am, how about if I post a tutorial a la the "Inside 7" book here, once a month, in Acrobat format, with resource files, and then we discuss everyone's work?

BOY, am I stretching!

Oh, yes...
1.) There will be no limited edition book of Photoshop 7. The publisher cannot justify the expense.
2.) I might very well ask Stu to help out on the next book. Already, as you folks can see, Dave Huss has come over from Photo-Paint (at least, for the book), and Robert Stanley did my book instead of his usual & excellent "Complete Idiot's Guide".

Already, I have a soft offer from one of the most talented Photoshoppists in France for the next book, so why not New Zealand? Make it an international consortium!

Happy, happy, all---
Gare

Wo ho ho. That's great Gary. The others will be thrilled.

Settle in. Take your time with the board. She's fairly new with a few bugs here and there. Nothing major.

Hi Gary,

I welcomed you already in your other thread but I had the urge to add that you do a great job by moderating the 3D forum. It was quiet in there 2 or 3 months ago, until you decided to do something about it and since then the whole forum has come alive. Well done Gary [righton]

After you brought Cool 3D Studio under the attention I had to try it too and before I knew it I had a new avatar

Default Photoshop 7 Book

Welcome aboard Gary

I ordered the book a few days ago along with some others by someone else (can't remember who or what I ordered now but there was 3 in total), thought I deserved a Chrisy present too (yeah I have to buy my own ha ha ha) - so I guess I will see them all in about 6 weeks [sleepy] unfortunately that is just how long it takes to get here in Oz land (at least the inside 6 book took that long - guessing it would be the same).

I like to buy books with CD's as these always have examples on them so that I can see what I am reading - tremendously helpfull! I always end up getting them thru the Amazon site ........ having said that I bought my first book from your site - you were offering a discount so I took advantage of that

I like the idea of the tutes too - would be helpfull for us to go through them together one at a time [:I
