The history of PSG, the man behind it and his dedication. Post #1 | | Guest | The history of PSG, the man behind it and his dedication. Mark has started Photoshopgurus in 1996, which makes the site actually 10 years old.
This is a major achievement and shows how much of his time Mark was willing to spare to share his knowledge with people or allow others to do the same. Designing a site, adding content, maintenance, site promotion, etc, it all takes a lot of time and especially after running my own Photoshop site for over a year I truly understand what kind of dedication Mark has shown and like I said, in his case for ten years!
To understand the reasoning behind Mark?s decision to turn the site over to a new owner, please read this: http://www.photoshopgurus.com/forum/...84917#msg84917
I?m pretty sure that Mark will visit the board now and then, but still, if you feel that you want to show your appreciation for what he has done in all those years, please do so in this thread.
Mark, I wish you and your family all the best in good health, have a great time in and around your future new home and good luck with all your business endeavors!
The door is always open for you at PSG and I?ll take good care of her.

The history of PSG, the man behind it and his dedication. Post #2 | | Guest | Re: The history of PSG, the man behind it and his dedication.
... it was only 4 years ago when I really ventured into the world of Photoshop and I was sooo fortunate to find PSG with Marks tutorials (that I could really understand .. and that actually worked!!) and the friendly, helpful PSG community lead by the Keeper ... and so to Mark I say a great big thank you for creating PSG (until a few months ago my only Photoshop reference point) and wish you and your family all the very best in your new (ad)ventures? ..... here in OZ we generally don't say goodbye to friends, we say "see ya later" and so Mark, thanks for the help, and the memories .... see ya later (not too much later I hope), don't become a stranger, drop by often ... regards namvet
btw ... I googled "Okanagan Valley" (where Mark and his family are moving to) and it was described as "Located in southern British Columbia, the Okanagan Valley is one of the warmest regions in all of Canada.? During the summer months, visitors are offered countless sandy beaches, hot sun, and a variety of outdoor and water activities. Okanagan Lake provides the valley not only with excellent swimming but is also a spectacular backdrop to the golf courses and wineries located in the rolling hills of the valley. The Okanagan is considered a premiere wine valley and a tour of the local wineries is a must for anyone visiting the region." .... \:/ ... sounds like a little bit of Heaven? | |

Okanagan Valley - it does sound like a little 'bit of heaven' I'm glad for you a yours, Mark. I want to thank you for the wonderful time I've had here. It's been over a year for me, but that's not very long compared to some other long-time members. It was only about 2 years ago when I got 'serious' about Photoshop. I guess you could say I became sort of a PS freak.? 8} I loved Photoshop soo much and I still do. I did every tutorial I could get my hands on. I was do something every day. Then, I stumbled apon PSG. Out of all the other Photoshop sites out there, I was attracted here. I loved Marks great tutorials and everyone here was friendly and more than willing to help. It's been a great time, and I've got to know alot of members around here. I looking forward to knowing others and you too, neo.
Anyway, good luck to you all!

My wellwishes to TheFounder aka TheKeeper aka Mark.
PSG came at a time when I was at a low in life. This place kept my spirits up as well as kept me up late into the nite sometimes till I have to leave for work in the morning.
And I still remember that pledge I made to you those years ago bud. I just haven't figured a way to do it.
May you and your family be blessed with all the good things life can offer.
God Bless.

And 5 years ago I found this amazing site and became very obsessed with it and my brother would shake his head at me every time that he'd pass my room, and see my head glued to the Amazing cannon fodder and other threads [bustagut]
