Changing File extensions

Does anyone know how I can change a *.bmp to a *.bum formate. You see Poser only recognizes the bum extension for bump maps and I don't know how to make this change

I am not a poser user but I did a search on google ( .bum files) and it came up with the link above amongst others.

It looks from the tut that
