Well, here is an attempt to do what you did ;\ Not the greatest, realism is lacking but I tried. What do you think?

I think that your on your way. just keep playing around and you'll get it. There's probably about 10 more processes in mine. if you keep 'clicking' and 'tweaking' it'll get there. it needs more contrast and alot more color blending. and the sphere is somewhat flat. I'll post an example of how to make the sphere, although that's already been done somewhere on this forum
