Hi!
I'll be posting content later this week; for now, feel free to jump in with a topic wish list, or any questions about how Corel Painter and other apps that can use nozzles or create textures can work with Photoshop.
My Best,
Gare

Welcome, pixel-benders! Post #3 | | Guest | Re: Welcome, pixel-benders!
Uhm from what i can tell.. the PSG servers are Really slow for me (maybe something else is going on) but as recomendations.. (i havent been on here in awhile just randomly got a email) you should think about making a new design for the forums.. its kinda oogly (ugly) and cluttered, confusing.
ill be sure to start coming back though havent been on here in awhile.

Welcome, pixel-benders! Post #4 | | Guest | Re: Welcome, pixel-benders! Hey how you been Gare? Anixously waiting for your GG (Great Guidance) in Procreate Painter Classic. I always drool when I'm looking in the program but so far can have only made brushes to use in PSCS. Would it be a good romp if you called for original painted art to use in PSCS? \:/ BTW I like your Avatar pic.
BTW I think the forum design is fabulous.

Hi, Mikey--
As far as server speed goes, I'm just a moderator and not the administration. I've got broadband and I find PSG to be as fast as any other site. The design of the site? Similarly, I have nothing to do with the graphics--I'd contact Mark the Keeper for a speedy reply.
My Best,
Gare

Happy New Year, Joy!
Okay, I got part one of your message: Painter art can be captured in grayscale in PS by opening the art and choosing Edit>Define Brush. Alternatively, all Painter brushes can be oipened and captured in PS--they are JPEG files, but the only thing is that many of them were saved to non-square pixels (go figure; this was done in the Fractal Design Era, and I thought non-square pixel format was only for video)...no problem, tho'; you open them, then choose Image>Pixel Aspect Ratio.
Not sure I understand part 2:"Would it be a good romp if you called for original painted art to use in PSCS?" "Called for"? Can you elaborate?
Has anyone experimented with creating a clone document then using the Cloning brushes? I
've had great success in transforming my boring photography into interesting chalk renders, but the oils don't seem to work for me as well.
Also, particularly for Photoshop Elements users, you'll not that File>Save for Web restricts you to 4 animated GIF frames. Anyone use Painter, where frames are theoretically unlimited? Then on to ImageReady for clean-up work?
My Best,
Gare

Oh, you'll fer shure want to get her up and running ASAP if you want to use it in tandem with PS. I've been using version 6 for a while now, the last iteration from the actual Fractal Design developers, but recently upgraded to 9 because although Corel has added zip to the features (version 2 brought layers, version 3 brought nozzles, version 4 added tesselation, ya-da-dah), they did well with automation of certain features.
Everyone know how to create your own nozzles, or would y'all like a tutorial?
My Best,
Gare
