Default Small photo, large res. ?

I have a photo that I copied from an Power Point Presentation which looked great on Power Point but when I have it in PS I noticed that the image size is just 2.507x1.028 with a res. of 576. Pixel Dimensions are 2.45M

I would like to print out a larger version of this photo but I'm not having much luck with it. It gets blurry when I try to enlarge it.

It was on Power Point as PNG graphic and I saved it to the desktop as a Gif andthen dragged it into PS.
Don't know much about Power Point maybe there is a better way to transfer pics from it.

Make a new doc at the size you want to print out (8.5'' x 11'' @ 300res)? Then move your PowerPoint image over to the new document. When you do that the picture should end up around 5 by 2 in aprox on the new doc(I think).

Thanks Patrick you were pretty close it was 4.5 x 2.25.
I don't understand how it determines the size automatically like that but it did the trick.
I appreciate your help.

Your welcome!
I think PS determines size by resolution, not by measurement (in. cm. etc.) That way, when you have a image at high res, and you move that over to a document which is at a lower resolution, PS has to bump up the size so the picture will fill up the same number of pixels. Did you get all that?
