Default Error message

I keep on getting this message when I'm copying and pasting it says "Clipboard failed because it is too big to export"
I am using Adobe CS2 on a Mac G4 running 10.4 Tiger with 2 Gigs of ram.

Any idea why it is doing this.

could be a multitude of issues. try this, although earlier OS's discourages turning on virtual memory, OSX doesn't. If you working in PS, it has a high RAM just to run the app. you may try drag and drop
instead of C&P. You can drag and drop between PS and Ill. I don't know if you can D&D into Bridge or not, I don't use it. OR, get a PC. pc seems to handle CS2 much better than Mac for me as long as I don't have a lot of PC crap on it. I know that OSX runs on a G-4, but I thinks it runs more effeciently on a G-5

There is an optional plugin on the CS2 install disk (actually I think it's been around since PS7) called Unlimited Clipboard Size.plugin. It is found on your PS CS2 install disk at /Volumes/Adobe(R) Photoshop(R) CS2/Goodies/Optional Plug-Ins/Photoshop Only/Optional Extensions/Unlimited Clipboard Size.plugin. Put it in your Plugins/Photoshop Only folder in your CS2 application and you should never see that warning again.

Thanks Ronmatt, for the suggestions I'll try the plug in first though and if I'm still having problems I'll try turning on virtual memory.? ?Getting a PC though wouldn't be an option

Thanks Welles, I foung the plugin, also found a few more there that looked interesting. Is there any reason why I can't just put them all in the Plugins folder.

Nope!

BTW there's no such thing as turning on virtual memory in OS X that I'm aware of. The entire allocation of memory is performed by the OS based on dynamic need. The equivalent of VM is paging off to disk but the user has no control over that function.

I stand corrected welles. It's a function of os9. I flashed to a G-4 w/ os9.
PC's really aren't all that bad. I have both and I do all work for printing on the Mac [but] I find the pc
better for me when doing things for the screen. I think the key thing with a pc is to not have it connected to the internet and to run a bare minimum of apps on it. I really prefer PS on the pc. Maybe it's just the way I've got it set up. When I got Flash, Swish, Bryce and ZBrush, there weren't Mac versions available and the few that were, were buggy. (plus the pc has yet to crash or freeze up, I can't say the same for the Mac). I'm not the techno/religious type,(Mac vs. PC) I use whats best to suit my needs.
