I have the 6000+ and upgraded from the 4200+ and it blows it out the water.
Or keep on saving for the AMD quad cores coming out sometime this year. Your set up isn't bad at all tbh.
| With those quad cores coming up etc most likely the 6000+ will be quite less expensive right? Maybe it is better to wait a little, because now the 6000+ is like the last in line in the amd x2 line and therefore it is quite expensive at this moment.

£104 is really cheap I’ve just seen it plus you'll sell yours for say even if you get £50 that's not a bad swap for the price.
If you can hold on a few more months you'd save even more, but your 4200+ might be harder to sell, if you can put up with it a bit longer then I’d wait a little. Plus the graphics cards are dropping in price a fair amount to.

| At what times do you notice this particularly? You really notice a difference between them in your day-to-day computing?

I have my comp on pretty much every day all day, with the 4200+ I’d play a game for an hour or so then have to reboot to sort the comp out running fast again, with the 6000+ you never reboot, it never slows down, there really is nothing you can do to it to bog it down.
Booting up windows is super fast, there's just no lag with it, the best upgrade I’ve made, I paid £240 for the 4200+ when it first came out and £155 for the 6000+ I can't believe it's only £104 now.

I got myself the 6000+ today, works great although I have to update my bios for the pc to recognize it. My pc has no floppydrive and therefore I can't seem to update my bios as you need a reboot disk. It also is dangerous to fool around witht he bios I read, so I will take my pc to the shop tomorrow for the experts to fix it.

I have an asus board, so do it with asus updater, never had a problem with it, scary when you watch it update though lol. Better leave it to the guys at the shop, watch them do it so you'll know later down the line, made a great buy there, you wont regret it.

I have a m2v-tvm board. Downloading asus updater now, maybe that is the solution and will save me from dragging the pc to the shop.

If you install it, download the bios you want yourself and install the bios though the updated from the file on your pc, don't let it download it from the internet in case it goes wrong, make sure all anti virus stuff etc is off.
It'll reset your bios as well, so you'll need to change all of that if you made any changes, like booting from a cd drive etc. I always format after as well if I’m honest.
