Default Help on slicing a layout

[img]Hi,
I'm a Photoshop novice and I'm preparing my first layout for my webpage. Could you give me some hints on creating the slices (attaches is the design in photoshop). In particular I'd need some clues on correctly creating the rounded rectangle around the main content. (I'd like to use a fixed layout).
I've seen that there's a technique to define the four corners and repeat the main element so that the rectangle can be adapted to the dimension of the content.
Thanks a lot.
Andrea

Hi nagar.

You need to slice that shape into 3 rows and 3 columns - segregating the corners from the main body sections. That will allow the body area to be 'fluid', while retaining the size/shape of the corners.

If you need a visual example let me know.

Thanks a lot. I followed your suggestions using Photoshop guidelines and then slicing the layout. As I'd like to create a CSS compliant site could you point out some good resources about designing a layout using CSS div elements?

In particular, I would like to do a two columns layout made so that the right column is fixed size and the left column adapts itself to fill all the width (I'm using a fixed layout).
Thanks again.
Andrea
