Version (the album from which THAT cover version is taken) is the most pathetically pointless album I think i've ever had the misfortune of hearing.

Mark Ronson needs shooting.

good thing i did a search before starting a new thread.

anyway yes the shortlist for this has been announced and it is thus:

Arctic Monkeys - 'Favourite Worst Nightmare'
Klaxons - 'Myths Of The Near Future'
Amy Winehouse - 'Back To Black'
Maps - 'We Can Create'
The View - 'Hats Off To The Buskers'
Jamie T - 'Panic Prevention'
Dizzee Rascal - 'Maths & English'
Bat For Lashes - 'Fur And Gold'
Young Knives - 'Voices of Animals And Men'
Fionn Regan - 'The End Of History'
New Young Pony Club - 'Fantastic Playroom'
Basquiat Strings - 'Basquiat Strings'

i'm not terribly impressed, of that lot i've only got klaxons and young knives, and neither are that great really. the view can gtf, bat for lashes needs to be culled and arctic monkeys won't win, just because BUT they said that last year!! so maybe they will, i dunno. oh and i would have had maximo park or the rakes or something in there my self but i'm not at all surprised that neither are, especially with the latter who seem to have fallen out of favour ridiculously fast. oh and jarvis probably should be there imo.

Haha, I'm putting twenty quid on Winehouse, then. HAS to win.

Possibly a fiver on Jamie T too just to cover my ass. I'll take a look at the odds.

the rakes falling out of favour might have quite a lot to do with their latest album being gash.

klaxons to win.

haha how did NYPC get on there? that was released on the day of the deadline and is a really patchy album anyway.

still, they deserve to be there more than the ****ing view. easily the worst band i saw any of at glastonbury, and i spent most of thursday watching some old hippies cover disney songs in the green fields.

would personally have had simian mobile disco and the chemical brothers in there.
