the dissection of his list posted below it is ridiculous, who wrote that? it's HIS list you moron, sentences like 'The places given to Tim May, Darren Berry and Jamie Siddons should have gone to these three' are rubbish and irrelevant.

Robin Smith is an odd one, not that Judgey isn't fb, but he couldn't play warne if he was bowling with a football. Must be a Hants thing

Oh, and like everyone else has said Harmison not only in the list, but above Waqar, a bowler who sustained a test match avg of 23 and strike rate of 43 over an 87 match career.

also a bit baffling how Warne has a few players sharing a position (Kallis/Pollock etc).

he messed up basically. He mentioned in the articles that he had done that the day after, as I think he knew who would be in his top 50, but then added a whole load while writing/telling the ghost writer

Remind me when Warne faced Bradman?

Tendulkar and Lara occupying the top 2 spots was always a given - Lara because he was one of the best players of spin around, and Tendulkar because Warne always had a fairly average record against the Indians.

Wouldn't say it's just because of his record against Indians. Warne and the rest of the Aussies have always rated SRT highly, Warne especially. SRT did rape the Aussies though when he was at his peak, which probably played on his mind but if that was the main reason then Laxman would have been in his list somewhere.

Jonty Rhodes should be in there, if only for this.

Was Laxman's awesome series against the Aussies when Warne was out the team?

Can't think of any other reason why VVS has been excluded.

It's not a list that's dictated by performances or stats, though, is it?

I thought it was more a list of just how much Warne respects them, or how naturally gifted they were, or how dedicated they were, or basically any criteria Warne felt like applying when it got to their number.

Not a hell of a lot of rhyme or reason. Just a subjective list taken from his immediate personal reactions.
