I am starting my Masters in a couple of weeks time and by the looks of things, it appears as though it is going to be tight getting from work in Guildford to Bedford Way, which is where the Institute of Education is based.
I have scanned a number of online maps and the tfl website, but it is saying it takes 18 minutes to get from Goodge Street tube station to Russell Square. Is this right? How reliable are the tubes at rush hour time coming out of Waterloo (Northern Line to be precise)?
As things stand I am going to have to run out of work at 4 on the dot to get the 4.15 train from Guildford, which will leave me 33 minutes to get from Waterloo to Bedford Way/Russell Square before my lectures and seminars start.
Any local knowledge (or approximate cab prices) would be appreciated!

Londoners - I need your travel advice please Post #2
You can get from most places to another in central London easily in 33 minutes using the Underground, aside from the occasional day when everything goes haywire.
You should generally have time to spare anyhow as it's only five stops to Goodge Street or six (plus a change) to Russell Square.
