OK so it's my dad's birthday soon and my siblings and I decided we would all chip in and get pater a Sat Nav. However since I haven't owned a car for 5 years and none of us have used a Sat Nav we're a bit clueless.

Budget-wise we're looking at around £150-200. Also his last job was driving high performance sports cars all day so he's used to decent ones.

I know someone who bought a garmin and traded it in for a tomtom. that should score extra points for tomtom.

seriously, we have a tomtom and it's excellent.

my mums got a garmin and its not great, i'd go for a tomtom imo
