Default Right - is there an alternative to the cretinous iTunes that doesn't lose music tracks randomly?

Yeah - been losing the odd music track from my iTunes Library (and consequently my iPod) for a while now.

Came to a head tonight with about 70 odd tracks vanishing without trace.

So is there an alternative (preferably free) to this frankly now-bloated and crap piece of Jobby?

you can probably get them songs back btw, plenty of apps (on windows too i think) that will scan you ipod/itunes for 'missing' tracks.

Vista and the latest release off the back of the announcements yesterday.

Been happening ever since they started adding the unecessary ***** into the iTunes client (iPhone stuff, etc.)

Oh - and it was happening on my old XP machine as well.

Anyway - I've got rid and am now on Winamp instead
