I think Steven makes an important point, and quite frankly Herman, you're only dismissing him in the vain hope that your attitude and forum kudos will cover up what is a hugely embarassing and quite frankly unforgiveable error on your part. Shame on you.

and i can't even do the smily created in your honour at you, when it's never been more apt

I was wondering about this.

Just how sparse is the NASN coverage? And if my box has no slot (hmm..), how much am I shelling out just to upgrade?

So what do you actually need to get this - just a Freeview box with a slot and then order Sentanta?

My current one doesn't have a slot, but if it's that easy I'd be prepared to try it for a few months.

You can get Setanta via broadband for £2 a month cheaper. I might get that since I have my old PC laptop hooked up to my TV as a DVD player anyway.

this thread is excellent, but a few questions, why is herman so eager to watch french football? and what was the herman smilie?

all of the the above questions are actually genuine requests for non silly answers. that probably makes me sound less genuine doesn't it, hmm.

would love to be at one of hewletts rage parties whispering setanta

You get this on the broadband thing

Quote:
Setanta By Broadband is the great new way to enjoy Setanta Sports – both live and on-demand.

Through the online simultaneous broadcasts (simulcasts) of Setanta Sports 1, Setanta Sports 2 and Setanta Golf, you can enjoy LIVE coverage of all of Setanta’s leading content*:

* From August 2007, 46 games per season live and exclusive from The Barclays Premier League - Setanta By Broadband is the only place where you can watch live top-flight action online in the UK
* The Clydesdale Bank Premier League – 60 live games each season including all the Old Firm derbies and all the big matches
* The US PGA Tour – Setanta Golf's coverage includes over 80 top golf tournaments live in 2007 alone, featuring The US PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours
* Europe’s top soccer leagues – the German Bundesliga, France’s Le Championnat and the Dutch Eredivisie
* Extensive coverage of the Blue Square Premier (formerly the Football Conference)
* Rugby Union from the Magners League and French Top 14, plus Rugby League from the NRL
* Action from the GAA Hurling and Football Season
* Live Motorsport including comprehensive coverage of the 2007 British Touring Car Championship and all the action from the German Touring Car Masters
* An extensive archive of great sporting action** including highlights such as Ricky Hatton’s IBO Light Welterweight title fight victory Jose Luis Castillo – exclusive to Setanta by Broadband.
* Plus much more, including a great range of magazine/feature programming
* Setanta Sports 1 broadcasts 24/7, Setanta Sports 2 only at weekends and Setanta Golf between 11am and Midnight every day.
So you'd get your Ligue Une Hermy.

Caveat emptor etc.

* Important: Please note that due to certain rights agreements there is a small amount of content on the Setanta Sports 1 and Setanta Sports 2 televised services which we can not offer to subscribers of SETANTA BY BROADBAND. Most notably this includes Portuguese Superliga, Australian Rules football and NASN programming – this content is blacked-out of the online simulcasts. If you are hoping to watch a particular match or event that is not referred to in the list above please check the list of fixtures below before subscribing to ensure that it will be offered on Setanta by Broadband. If you are in any doubt please contact Broadband@setanta.com.

** Important: Please note that because of the nature of our rights agreements we are not able to offer action from the Scottish Premier League,NRL Rugby League or British Touring Car Championship in the on-demand archives (it is available on the simulcasts).

Try here:
http://www.topuptv.co.uk/setantasports.html

I think the point Stevenhp1987 was making was that the service is provided via your Freeview box by Top Up TV, so you'd need to contact Top Up TV to upgrade, but that's all you really need to know

I think he just went into a bit too much extra detail
