at this point, I'm more surprised this information is getting out prior to bush leaving office.
there are a number of surprising revelations in this and I hope some of them can get discussed rather than more smug one-liners and general mongery.
I'm surprised tenet never said anything to powell. and that tenet took the fall on this without ever dropping dime.
I'm surprised blair got completely hooked and mi6 couldn't find any contradictory information of their own (since I'm sure they were also in contact with french intelligence).

I think probably the best that can be hoped for is that he'll be indicted by one international court or another, the us will refuse extradition, and he'll be tried in absentia. if he's convicted, he'll be unable to leave the country for the rest of his life. and given his absolute lack of curiosity and disdain for the world, I don't think that'll bother him much.

Impeachment? They done it with Clinton over a blowjob after all </BLOCKQUOTE>
no matter what he does, a majority of the country will not want to go through another impeachment trial again.

When the mobile weapons labs were inserted into the draft of Powell's United Nations speech, Drumheller strongly objected again and believed that the error had been removed. He was shocked watching Powell's speech. "We have firsthand descriptions of biological weapons factories on wheels and on rails," Powell announced. Without the reference to the mobile weapons labs, there was no image of a threat.
Shows Powell was in on it too, to a degree at least

Was thinking as I read the bit about not being able to leave the US "like he'd want to anyway".
I really hope something can be done, but I always get suspicious of these things just being slowly removed from the public eye until the general public just forget and move on.

Isnt there another security organisation that Bush can counter claim he got conflicting intelligence from, or is the CIA the be all and end all as far as how he should make decisions?
