read woodward's book on the war and you'll see that cheney was taking raw intel from the field and analysing it himself ffs.
| The whole world knows who Chalabi and Cheney were working for, no mystery there at all.
The tipping point was probably in late 1991 when it became clear Iraq had absolutely no intention of abiding by the peace treaty and thought it could just get away with it. More fool us for waiting so long.

| It's not new, Drumheller's been on about it for years now. This report just says what he said is confirmed by 2 other officers, but as they're not named...

and in fact the humanitarian aim probably a much greater failing than the WMD angle.
| How's that? You think the civil war would not have happened when Saddam died anyway? </BLOCKQUOTE>
No I don't. The environment had to change considerably for a civil war to break out and I don't think the death of Saddam would have been enough. It needed his death, the destruction of the infrastucture, army, police etc. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Yeah, Moqtada et al were just nobodies before we came along. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Yes, that's just what I said. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Well they weren't. Iraq was hardly stable and uprisings were not uncommon. They were the crimes Saddam was tried for, remember? </BLOCKQUOTE>
Twas sarcasm dude.

| Actually yesterday Bush mirrored the famous "All the way with LBJ" remark by stating that nobody should "rule (Howard) out in an election".
Conservative solidarity indeed. Cuunts, both of them.

The fact they needed to go so far (if it's true) to get rid of a murdering dictator like Saddam shows how useless the UN is.

Nope. Liberals will be crushed and Howard will lose his own seat.
Will it happen?
I have visited the future, and yes, it will. M'hey! /Frink
