So basically this is the return of the home nations but done in a way so england cant play. Scotland desperate for tournament they can progress in
| No, it's a tournament designed to get more revenue by having games that the fans are more likely to be interested in. As my previous post points out, England aren't interested in it, so why should they be included? </BLOCKQUOTE>
fair enough about england. But my other point still stands. Scotland desperate for tournament they have a chance of progressing in </BLOCKQUOTE>
More chance of us getting to Austria and Switzerland than England, you spanner. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Or not.
There's more chance of Gretna winning the SPL this year than there is of Scotland finishing above France or Italy </BLOCKQUOTE>
Nonsense.

I'd rathjer see it as a club competiton, even if it was an under 21 or under 19 one. Most likely the latter as Celtic would win most of the time!
Still, at least it should make for ome interesting matches

It would, but I don't know how keen the SPL minus Old Firm are on the idea.
| I think they'd use it as a run out for their reserves and under 21 players. Good place for the younger ones to get some competitive experience. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Are the non-Old Firm clubs well off enough to turn down the prize money? The winners of the current RoI/NI tournament get €100,000 iirc, so it would be a good bit more than that with Scottish backers on top. And putting out a reserve or U-21 side wouldn't work too well in the games against the teams from the Republic of Ireland, who I'd imagine would consider themselves fairly strong favourites against any non-European qualifying teams in Scotland.

Cardiff would wipe the floor with the Sides from the Republic so i'm guessing the Scottish Premier Sides would do a good enough job too.

Wipe the floor with them? Doubt they would to the top teams. Would they, Wrexham and Swansea be involved?

| Who won the U19s double last season, spanking the mighty Celtic 5-0 in the Scottish Cup final?

Tend to agree with Muller, don't see that the SPL sides not in Europe would have it easy against the Irish sides who would most probably be their equal. Outside the OF, SPL sides are really not that good that they could afford to field reserves in such a competition.
