Default Another new to Mac/Photoshop question

Where the heck is PS storing my images when I hit "save." This morning was the first time I have had a moment to check out CS2. Saved a test image and couldn't find it. LOL A little embarrassing so be sure. ;\

If you opened a file, save saves the file on top of itself.
If you created a new document, do "save as" again, it should point to the same folder.

what version of OSX are you using? in tiger, you have a search area on the top right.

It doesn't save the work you've done to "new place" it saves the modification directly to the original doc and it goes back to where you got it initially. You want to 'rename it, Use 'save as' (as noted above) then when you're done with the image and close it you'll get dialog asking if you want to save the changes. Click 'don't save. Now you'll have the original doc and the renamed altered doc in the same place, Hope that helps

I guess I should have been more specific. I created a totally new document so it had no place to "go back to." I never thought about doing a "save as" again to locate the files folder. Great idea. Thank you, gentlemen. [righton]

Lee,,

If you create a new document and hit save in any way, from the menu bar or Command + s, a dialog should appear which allows you to choose format, location of the saved file and name it. Didn't that happen? \:]

Yeah, it did, Welles, but I am still so used to PS on a Windows machine (where I knew where everything went) that I didn't pay any attention. I am learning new things everyday about Mac and seem to spend half my time looking for things. I'll get used to it. You know what they say about practice???
