he didn't teach me a lot, but he did teach me to be left footed. when I was younger, he made me play with a boot on the left foot but not one on the right foot, so kicking it with the right would hurt, and very quickly I became a left footer. and his plan was an excellent one, because I was left back or left winger for the school team for 8 years or whatever, and that was largely down to there being a small number of people capable of naturally playing that side. and taking the most simplistic view of things, people in the football team at school are more likely to be popular, so he might've set me up for having quite a few friends by doing this as well.
