a) go check last season's Serie A table numbnuts
b) so he captained the side who won the CL, great. did he win them it all on his own?
c) the uefa awards were considered a bit of a joke in general (Cech winning despite his injury etc), hardly conclusive proof at all.

Ashley Cole is a better player right now than Paolo Maldini. Maldini clearly the better in historical terms, and ofc far less of a c**t, but in current ability terms it's very very clear-cut.
