Default Breakfast in Western Countries

After staying about 13 months in the Netherlands, I still can't understand how people can have their breakfast with only one or two pieces of bread. For goodness sake, how can they work with a hungry stomach? Assuming that Western countries are the same, can anybody enlighten me how it feels?

And before anyone asks, I had rice or a slice of pizza when I was in Indonesia.

It's a lot different in the USA than in most Western countries.

In Brazil though, as like in many other Western countries, is more or less like you said, bread, coffee, and fruits sometimes.
