England fans who regularly attend internationals are too stupid to realise that club comes before country these days.
However, the fans who went to watch the U21s at the first match at Wembley were much better - as evidenced by the ironic cheer when Kieran Richardson was subbed off.
Bentley > England fans

Rio Ferdinand has hit back at fans for booing David Bentley in England's 3-0 win over Israel saying it "left a bad taste in the mouth".
Bentley had angered England Under 21 coach Stuart Pearce after he withdrew from the squad for this summer's European Championships in Holland at a late stage.
And the fans were keen to express their disappointment in the striker when he came on as a substitute for the final 20 minutes of the game against Israel.
But Ferdinand says the fans were wrong to boo Bentley and that their reaction was the only down side to the match.
"We had such a good performance and everyone was quite happy but what happened with David left a bad taste in the mouth," said Ferdinand.
"The lad is on England duty and you don't expect him to get booed, no matter what has happened in the past.
"In some quarters, people might say what he did in the summer was a wrong decision but in hindsight, it is easy to say that.
"He is a young lad, on a learning curve, making his seniors debut for England and he did not deserve to be booed."
Talented
Ferdinand went on to praise the performance of Emile Heskey who returned to partner Michael Owen up front.
Heskey was a significant threat to the Israel defence in his first game for England since the Euro 2004 finals in Portugal.
"Emile was a big plus for me," said Ferdinand. "He proved what a handful he can be. I've lost count of the number of chances he created.
"I was pleased for him because he has been out in the wilderness for a long time. He gets loads of stick which has been a bit unjust.
"But he has got big shoulders and you could see what a talented and effective player he can be." | |

As well as people booing Bentley for pulling out of the U21s, they are booing him for the fact he did it they day before they got on the plane to Holland and didnt give pearce enough time to get a replacement.

Look at James Milner, playing in every Newcastle game bar three from Lillestrom in July 2006 to Watford in May 2007, not to mention all the U21 games. Milner having ran about like the Duracell Bunny for over a year makes Bentley look pathetic saying "I'm tired".
AS for Neville, he can turn it around if he plays better. He ain't terrible, just not great. Look at Hargreaves who got booed against Paraguay, and is now rated much higher.

Booing Neville is retarded, I fully agree. They may have a point to boo Bentley though, I mean if a player for your club refused to go to, say, an early round UEFA Cup away match because he was "tired" and messed the club around by deciding this just before the team left for the plane, you'd be ****ed off with him, right? You'd think he was an odious little **** and some fans might jeer him at the next home game he played in.
England fans think Bentley disrespected England, ergo they're jeering him. I don't agree with fans booing their own players, ever, but he's being booed for the same reason a club player might be booed.
Sorry for not jumping on the "omfg, England fans r retarded n r not real football fans" bandwagon. Yeah, they may be retarded, but no more retarded than your average football crowd.

I personally can't stand booing, I understand that you pay your ticket so you have the right to do what you blah blah blah...
Just 2nd game into the season at home and your getting booed off at half time is a bit much, the more you boo the less impact it has when the sh!t really hits the fan. Spurs fans are the worst for this just, some of the most idiotic fans I think in the country.
