Default England's Summer Creeeeeeekit Thread *with the added bonus of us possibly winning something this time*

Ah yes a Summer of International creeeeeekit and not an Aussie team in sight! WI & India are a touring with the 1st test kicking off on Thurs 17th.

May 2007 Sat 12 - Mon 14 Somerset v West IndiansCounty Ground, Taunton Thu 17 - Mon 21 1st Test - England v West IndiesLord's, London Fri 25 - Tue 29 2nd Test - England v West IndiesHeadingley, Leeds June 2007 Fri 1 - Sun 3 TBC v West IndiansVenue TBC Thu 7 - Mon 11 3rd Test - England v West IndiesOld Trafford, Manchester Fri 15 - Tue 19 4th Test - England v West IndiesRiverside Ground, Chester-le-Street Thu 21 England A v West IndiansCounty Ground, New Road, Worcester Sun 24 Derbyshire v West IndiansCounty Ground, Derby Tue 26 PCA Masters XI v West IndiansArundel Castle Cricket Club Ground Thu 28 1st T20I - England v West IndiesKennington Oval, London Fri 29 2nd T20I - England v West IndiesKennington Oval, London July 2007 Sun 1 1st ODI - England v West IndiesLord's, London Wed 4 2nd ODI - England v West IndiesEdgbaston, Birmingham Sat 7 3rd ODI - England v West IndiesTrent Bridge, Nottingham

Vaughan already out the 1st test, and news in yesterday that KP may well be out too and Tresser says he isnt ready for a recall yet. Simon Jones obv not in contention either

So i expect a team of:

Strauss*
Cook
Bell
Joyce / Shah / AN Other
Colly
Freddie
Prior
Anyone but Mahmood FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I BEG YOU
Hoggi
Harmi
Monty

I expect Harmi to be recalled and Prior to get the nod ahead of Nixon as theres no point in giving a 36 year old keeper his debut.

News on WI to follow.

Interesting to see if we stick with the Right Arm Rot of Mahmood or whether we opt for Jimmy or Plunkett or even Broad. If Jimmy plays mon Monty batting at 8 \o/

If KP doesnt play then theres a batting place up for grabs, Shah in theory should be first in line after playing well in his one test to date. Although whoever plays if clearly just keeping the place warm for Denly

I would imagine Shah to get the nod as batsman, he's been in good form so far in the county season i think.

If Trescothick's in the right mental state, he's got to be picked. Such a good opener..

Freddie's not a test match number 6 any more - if ever he was.

Four man attack, with some overs to be expected from Colly/Bell/KP/Vaughan/Bopara as and when they play.

My Team:

Cook
Strauss *
Bell
Shah
Collingwood
Bopara
Flintoff
Prior
Hoggard
Harmison
Monty
