Have been to watch Leicester a few times so I love Steuy...just hope we try out some players who have got POTENTIAL, rahter than the same old faces who we know (barring a miracle) will never be able to compete with the likes of Australia.

So when fielding in the slips and the batsman gets an edge Haz dives straight out of the way and runs home to mummy |

Could be hilarious scenes if FLintoff isn't ready to bowl next match, and Hoggard is still injured...oh dear god.

I don't suspect Freddie will be fit, and I reckon Hoggard's out as well. If that's the case the selectors will certainly call for Anderson and Mahmood to fill the holes. I'd prefer they went with calling up new boys, like Onions, maybe even Bresnan or Tahir, or going with some older stop gaps, which brings the fascinating possiblity of someone like Chapple, Cork, Kabir or even Gough. I fear that they'll go with Harmison, Plunkett and Mahmood, and that's like giving the opponents a 100 run head start |

Totally agree with the prospect of giving the youngsters a shot...I know a bit about Onions, but who do Bresnan and Tahir, who do they play for, what kind of bowlers are they?

Didn't Freddie play a one dayer for Lancs over the weekend? Or was that only as a batsman?

Bresnan's already got ODI caps, he played a few last season and was rubbish, got good figures for Yorkshire this season which is impressive as he's been competing with Hoggard, Gillespie, Gough and Rashid for the ball. Tahir's a promising quickie who can bat a bit as well, plays for Warwicks. He's got little chance of actually being selected mind. |

Ah they're going off - victory looking unlikely now with no early breakthrough and more time being lost to rain.
