Andy Murray is making good progress as he battles back from a wrist injury ahead of next week's US Open, according to his coach Brad Gilbert.
The British number one is pain free and "improving a lot" ahead of the final Grand Slam event of the year.
"The last couple of days we have had our best practice in a long time," Gilbert told BBC Radio 5live.
"We are hoping every day will get a bit better and hopefully he will be able to work his way into the tournament."
Murray injured the wrist playing a routine forehand in the Hamburg Masters on 15 May, his 20th birthday, and was forced out of both the French Open and Wimbledon.
He returned to action at the Montreal Masters at the start of August but has lost two of the three matches he has played since.
"The pain is gone and now it's about muscle memory and getting back out there and getting back into a good daily routine of what we had before," added Gilbert.
"This week has been a real step forward, no question. It's been his best week of practice in a long time.
"He is feeling good, nothing is bothering him and now it's not about the injuries it's about the tennis which is much more important.
"More than anything it's been a physical problem. Sometimes you want to push and ultimately nobody knows what is inside his wrist.
"He's the one that has got to know more than anybody, he has got to trust the people that are telling him what to do but he is the one pulling the trigger."
Murray is seeded 19th for the US Open at Flushing Meadows, which starts on 27 August, and has been drawn against a qualifier in the first round. | *ahem* \o/

The BBC coverage of the other two is sketchy at best though. Might show a couple of British players matches in the early rounds then have interactive coverage of QF's onwards. Might have the final live, putting themselves out.
