Seems a bit bizarre that it's shown exclusively on Sky over here then, and Sci Fi don't show it

UK Sci Fi seem to just not gaf when it comes to showing good stuff. They seem content to fill their schedule with older stuff and rubbish movies, probably due to budget constraints. Sky are willing to throw money at the American networks to get shows, silly not to take it.

All i can say is it must be really silly money sky are throwing at it, if it beats the advertising revenue both for that programme and the increase in general audience the channel would get, combined with the decent sum they'd get for selling it to sky as well without exclusivity.

Unless it's one of those weird deals where they have completely seperate budgets, and they'd make UK Sci-fi buy it off US Sci-fi. Would seem a bit silly, though.

It was originally a joint venture, with Sky helping to get the show made in the first place. If memory serves Sky got a credit throughout the first series and the series was first aired in Blighty, several months before Sci-Fi ran it in the US.

If i recall correctly - UK Sci-Fi channel is no longer affiliated in any way to it's American Colleague.

They used to be owned by them, but have since been sold.

The only reason the series exists at all is the initial funding for the first series by Sky. So I think they earned it really.
