While I have no time anti-americans, I've always noted the smug OTF superiority complex which sees us all laugh at stupid people rather than pity them. There's nothing xenophobic or racist about anyone here laughing at this girl. Or have we now arrived at a situation here where only people from Britain and Ireland can be laughed at and muslims are fair game for anyone?

Perhaps so, but it smacked of the standard American response to criticism of America around here or indeed to almost any topic on America with the exception of travel or saying how great the US is, which is to claim that anyone saying anything negative about America, Americans or a specific American is a euroclown (what a awful, abused and overused term that is anyway) and that they are racist.
